The Nigerian Army has confirmed the elimination of three top commanders of the Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorist group during intense gun battles in Mallam Fatori and Buratai.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Army identified the neutralized insurgent leaders as Amir Abu Ali, Amir Ibunu, and Amir Abu Waldume.
“Three prominent Boko Haram/ISWAP leaders — Amir Abu Ali, Amir Ibunu, and Amir Abu Waldume — were eliminated in Mallam Fatori and Buratai fierce gun battles,” the statement read.

The Army described the operation as part of its ongoing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency efforts in the North-East, adding that the successful engagement dealt a significant blow to the leadership structure of the terrorist groups.
