As Muslims around the world observe Eid al-Adha, Lagos State lawmakers, Rt. Hon. Mojisola Meranda and Hon. (Prince) Nureni Ayinde Akinsanya, Hon. Temitope Adewale have called on Nigerians to embrace the spirit of love, sacrifice, and renewed faith during the festive season.

The Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Meranda, extended warm greetings to Muslims in Apapa Constituency 1, across Lagos State, and globally. She described Eid al-Adha as a time for deep reflection, spiritual renewal, and commitment to community values.

“Eid al-Adha is a time of sacrifice, reflection, compassion, and unity,” she said. “It reminds us of the values of faith, obedience, and selflessness—virtues that are deeply needed in our communities today.”

Meranda prayed that Almighty Allah accepted the prayers and sacrifices of the faithful and urged Nigerians to strengthen the bonds of unity, love, and service as a pathway to building a better and more peaceful society.

Also sharing his goodwill, Hon. Akinsanya, who represents Mushin Constituency 1, encouraged Muslims to reflect on the profound lessons of the Eid and extend generosity to the needy.

“Let us reflect on these profound teachings as we partake in the symbolic sacrifice and share the blessings of Eid with those who are in need,” he stated. “By embracing the spirit of generosity and compassion, we demonstrate the true essence of Islam and strengthen the bond of brotherhood in our society.”

Akinsanya further prayed for peace, harmony, and prosperity in all homes, emphasizing the importance of unity and mutual respect in Nigeria’s diverse society.

“As we unite in prayer and celebration, let us also remember to uphold the values of unity, love, and respect that define our diverse community,” he added.

Hon. Adewale Temitope Adedeji, who represents Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 1 also in his message called on Nigerians to extend simple gestures of care and compassion to one another.

“Let this moment be a time to check on your neighbours and show kindness in the simplest ways,” he urged.

“As your representative, I’m deeply committed to making sure progress and opportunity aren’t just words — but things you can feel in your everyday life.”

He concluded his message with warm wishes: “I wish you and your family peace, good health, and joy — today and always. Barka da Sallah.”
