A Magistrate Court sitting in Bolade, Oshodi, on Monday granted bail to a 70-year-old man, Mr. Kayode Otitoju, who was arraigned on a two-count charge following his arrest on Sunday at Lekki Phase 1.
Otitoju was alleged to have vandalised a section of an ongoing fence construction project along the canal setback in Lekki, being undertaken by the Lagos State Government.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him. His counsel, Oluwaseun Ettu, Esq., filed for bail on the most lenient terms, which the court granted. The bail conditions include a bond of N200,000, one surety, presentation of a three-year tax clearance certificate, and verification of the surety’s address.
The case has been adjourned to July 25, 2025, for the commencement of trial. As at the time of filing this report, the defendant had yet to meet the bail conditions.
