The Oludofian of Idofian in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, His Royal Highness Oba Muhammed Jamiu Olanrewaju Adedamola Omikunle II, has passed away.
According to reports, the monarch died on Thursday around 10 a.m. following a brief illness.
The Chief Imam of Idofian, Alhaji Mohammed Tohir Alao, confirmed the monarch’s death and announced that the Janazah (funeral) prayer will be held at 4 p.m. today in line with Islamic rites.
Similarly, Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has expressed his condolences to the people of Idofian over the demise of the traditional ruler.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, the Governor described the late Oba as a man of peace and noted that his passing is an incalculable loss to the community.
“The Governor urges the family and the entire community to accept this painful development as the will of Allah and take solace in the monarch’s legacy of peace and stability during his reign,” the statement read.
Governor AbdulRazaq prayed to Allah to grant the late monarch Al-Jannah Firdaus and to comfort his family and the people of Idofian.
