The 3rd edition of the Global First Ladies’ Alliance Academy has concluded in New York, bringing together First Ladies and former First Ladies from around the world to strengthen cooperation and reaffirm their commitment to promoting economic development, equity, and the wellbeing of citizens.
The three-day summit hosted 18 First Ladies, who convened under a shared vision to leverage their unique platforms to drive meaningful change in critical sectors such as health, education, gender equity, and sustainable development.
Co-Founder of the Alliance, Nicole Field, described the Academy as “a movement, not just a moment,” emphasizing its mission to equip First Ladies with the tools, strategies, and networks needed to deepen their impact and overcome common challenges.
“We need to be innovative and inventive in getting resources for nations,” Field stated.
“We acknowledge that life is not an easy ride, but we are aware it is full of purpose and promise. Optimize it.”
Among the participants was Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who joined her counterparts in reaffirming the importance of international partnerships in advancing early childhood education, maternal health, and inclusive development.

A key highlight of the final day was a special session led by Sarah Brown, wife of former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown, focusing on early childhood development and maternal health as foundational pillars for long-term economic growth.
Now in its 16th year, the Global First Ladies’ Alliance Academy continues to serve as a dynamic platform for leadership, dialogue, and innovation, helping First Ladies translate their influence into lasting, transformative impact within their countries and across borders.
