The Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government, High Chief (Alhaji) Ganiyu Kola Egunjobi (JP), on Saturday participated in the ongoing local government elections in Lagos State by casting his vote in his constituency.
Egunjobi, who is completing his tenure as council chairman, arrived at Polling Unit 033, Ward A, located in the Isale Oja area of Agege, at exactly 9:00 a.m.
He was accredited by officials of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) at about 9:30 a.m. and proceeded to cast his vote shortly afterward.
Speaking with journalists after voting, the outgoing chairman expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election so far.
He commended LASIEC for what he described as a well-organized process and urged the commission to ensure transparency during the collation and announcement of results.
“I am impressed with the process so far, but LASIEC must ensure that the collation of votes is seamless,” Egunjobi stated.
He also lauded residents of Agege for their turnout and encouraged them to maintain peace and adhere to electoral guidelines throughout the voting exercise.
