In a significant move to reinforce internal accountability and uphold professional standards, the Nigeria Police Force has announced that 151 senior officers are currently facing the Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC) over various pending disciplinary issues.
The Force Disciplinary Committee, a key internal mechanism, is tasked with reviewing and adjudicating cases involving allegations of professional misconduct, ethical breaches, and other violations.
According to the statement, the officers under review hold ranks from Assistant Superintendent of Police and above, and are drawn from different commands and formations across the country.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, disclosed that the affected officers are undergoing a comprehensive and transparent review process in accordance with existing police regulations and disciplinary procedures. The outcomes of the process will be forwarded to the Police Service Commission for final decisions.
Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, reaffirmed his commitment to discipline and ethical conduct within the Force.
He stressed that the Nigeria Police Force will not tolerate any form of indiscipline or misconduct from its personnel.
The Police Force reiterated its dedication to fostering integrity, professionalism, and public confidence in the system, stating that the ongoing disciplinary exercise is part of broader efforts to build a service-oriented, accountable institution where internal standards and the rule of law are upheld.
