The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticised President Bola Tinubu for failing to appoint ambassadors since recalling all 109 envoys in 2023, leaving Nigeria without proper representation at key global forums.
In a statement on Sunday, the party said the prolonged delay is damaging Nigeria’s international image and weakening diplomatic ties, especially with countries like the U.S. and UAE.
It warned that continued inaction could lead to other nations downgrading their representation in Nigeria.
The ADC also faulted the government’s handling of a recent diplomatic issue with the U.S., urging Tinubu to act swiftly to safeguard Nigeria’s global interests.
