PSG Goalkeeper, Donnarumma Bids Emotional Farewell to Club, Hints at Internal Rift |LAGOS EYE NEWS

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has confirmed his departure from the French champions, delivering an emotional farewell message to fans while suggesting that his exit was influenced by internal decisions within the club.

In a heartfelt statement shared on Tuesday, the Italian international expressed gratitude to the “special Paris fans,” recalling his dedication since arriving at the Parc des Princes.

“From the first day I arrived, I gave everything – on and off the pitch – to earn my place and defend the goal of Paris Saint-Germain,” Donnarumma wrote. “Unfortunately, someone decided that I can no longer be part of the group and contribute to the team’s success. I am disappointed and disheartened.”

The 26-year-old, who joined PSG in 2021 after winning the European Championship with Italy, also expressed his wish to say goodbye to supporters in person.

“I hope to have the opportunity to look the fans at the Parc des Princes in the eyes one more time and say goodbye as it should be done,” he added. “If that doesn’t happen, I want you to know that your support and affection mean the world to me, and I will never forget it.”

Donnarumma also paid tribute to his teammates, describing them as a “second family” and thanking them for “every battle, every laugh, every moment” they shared together.

“Playing for this club and living in this city has been an immense honour. Thank you, Paris,” he concluded.
