The Federal Government has announced the official theme for Nigeria’s 2025 Independence Day celebrations: “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation.”
The announcement was contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
According to the statement, the theme underscores the need for unity, collaboration, and patriotism across all sectors government, private institutions, civil society, and citizens towards building national peace, prosperity, and progress.
The government explained that the theme reflects Nigeria’s resilience since independence in 1960 and highlights the importance of consolidating past achievements while pushing for greater national goals under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Agencies and partners have been directed to align their activities with the anniversary theme to ensure its message resonates across the country.
Line-Up of Events
As part of the 65th Independence celebrations, a series of activities will be held in Abuja, Friday, September 26 – Juma’at Prayer, Sunday, September 28 – Inter-denominational Church Service, Monday, September 29 – World Press Conference
These events will officially set the tone for Nigeria’s milestone celebration, as the nation prepares to mark 65 years of independence.
