RCCG Donates Mattresses, Food to Badagry Correctional Centre |LAGOS EYE NEWS

Badagry, LagosThe Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has donated 100 mattresses, food items, and clothing materials to inmates at the Nigerian Correctional Service Medium Security Custodial Centre, Badagry.

The outreach, held on Thursday, was organised by RCCG Hosanna Tower, Lagos Province 122, in partnership with My Father’s House Salford, Manchester, United Kingdom.

The UK branch, under the leadership of Pastors Sam and Sarah Okodoa, sponsored the programme.

Leading the delegation, RCCG parish pastor, Tope Farotika, said the initiative was part of the church’s prison evangelism programme.

He explained that the Badagry Correctional Centre had become a special focus due to its peculiar needs.

“This is not our first visit. We have been to several correctional centres across Lagos, but God has placed it on our hearts to always return to Badagry. We want the inmates to know they are not forgotten; that their lives can be transformed, and they can become law-abiding citizens,” Farotika said.

During the visit, Pastor Farotika also delivered a sermon titled “Prince of Peace” from John 14:27, urging the inmates to embrace Jesus Christ as the true source of peace.

“It is not over for you. Some people search for peace through alcohol, drugs, or cybercrime, but these never bring joy. Only Jesus, the Prince of Peace, can give lasting peace,” he said.

He further called on other churches and well-meaning Nigerians to extend similar support, especially in the area of medical supplies, to improve the welfare of inmates.
