Kenya and Senegal have reached a landmark agreement to lift visa restrictions for citizens of both countries, allowing visa-free travel for up to 90 days.
The visa waiver deal was signed on Tuesday during Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye’s state visit to Kenya.
Announcing the development, President William Ruto said the agreement marks a significant step toward strengthening bilateral relations between the two African nations.
The deal was formalized at the State House in Nairobi by Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport, Kipchumba Murkomen, and Senegal’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Niang.
Under the agreement, citizens holding both diplomatic and ordinary passports from either country will be allowed to enter, stay, and transit through the other without a visa for up to 90 days.
The move is expected to strengthen diplomatic ties, boost trade and investment, and promote tourism and cultural exchange between the two nations, while advancing regional integration and economic growth.
