As countries across the globe commemorate International Anti-Corruption Day, the Oyo State Anti-Corruption Agency (OYACA) has reiterated its resolve to combat corruption and mitigate its harmful effects on society.
International Anti-Corruption Day, observed annually on December 9, focuses worldwide attention on the fight against corruption.
The theme for 2025 is “Uniting with the Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow’s Integrity.”
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Retired Justice Eni Esan, OYACA emphasized the crucial role young people play in the anti-corruption movement.
Justice Esan noted that the agency has intensified its outreach efforts, extending anti-corruption campaigns to tertiary institutions and academic communities across the state.
The agency also commended Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration for its unwavering stance on transparency and accountability.
According to OYACA, the state government’s zero-tolerance approach to corruption has enabled the agency to secure multiple convictions and recover significant sums derived from corrupt practices since its establishment.
