Ghislaine Maxwell, the former associate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, has declined to answer questions from US lawmakers after being subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee.
Maxwell, 64, is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking offences linked to Epstein.
The committee had sought her testimony regarding her relationship with the late financier and her knowledge of his activities.
Instead of responding to questions, Maxwell invoked her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.
Her lawyer said she would be willing to cooperate with lawmakers if she were granted clemency by US President Donald Trump.
