Tinubu Congratulates APC, Other Winners in FCT, Kano, Rivers Polls|LAGOS EYE NEWS

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated winners of Saturday’s elections held in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kano State, and Rivers State, describing the outcome as a reflection of the people’s democratic will.

The elections, conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), covered the six area councils of the FCT as well as by-elections in Ahoada East II and Khana II state constituencies in Rivers State. In Kano State, voters participated in polls for the Kano Municipal and Ungogo constituencies.

In a statement issued on Sunday, by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, said President Tinubu urged the newly elected officials to approach their mandates with humility, patriotism, and a deep sense of responsibility.

He described the electoral victory as a “sacred trust” bestowed by the people, calling on the winners to prioritise service delivery and inclusive governance.

The President also commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for what he termed remarkable achievements in the FCT, noting that the administration’s performance contributed to the electoral gains of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He extended congratulations to the APC’s national leadership, as well as party structures in Kano and Rivers states, for their successes at the polls.

President Tinubu further lauded INEC, security agencies, and voters for ensuring a peaceful and orderly electoral process. He praised the conduct of all candidates, regardless of outcome, stating that robust participation and healthy competition are vital to strengthening democracy.

According to the President, the smooth conduct of the elections reinforces Nigeria’s democratic institutions and culture. He urged INEC to continue refining the electoral process to deliver even more credible and exemplary elections in the future.
