The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated Olatunji Disu on his appointment as Acting Inspector-General of Police by President Bola Tinubu.
In a congratulatory message, Sanwo-Olu described Disu’s appointment as well deserved, noting that the senior police officer has dedicated over three decades of consistent service to the Nigeria Police Force.
According to the governor, Disu earned the new role through professionalism, discipline, and a track record of proven results in various capacities within the force.
Sanwo-Olu recalled Disu’s time in Lagos, particularly his tenure as Commander of the Rapid Response Squad, where he demonstrated strong leadership and a deep understanding of security dynamics in the state.
The governor expressed confidence that the new Acting IGP would bring clarity of purpose and integrity to the role, emphasizing the need for an accountable and effective police force in Nigeria.
He added that Lagos State is proud of Disu’s achievement and wished him success in his new assignment.
