Veteran Gospel Singer, Evangelist Toun Soetan Dies at 72 |LAGOS EYE NEWS

The Christian community in Nigeria is mourning the death of veteran gospel singer and evangelist, Toun Soetan, who passed away at the age of 72.

Also paying tribute was Yomi Bajemigbe, who described the late gospel minister as a remarkable woman whose life left a lasting impact on his generation.

“Mama Toun Soetan was truly a remarkable woman whose life left a lasting impact on my generation. She was one of the heroes of our childhood—an inspiring figure whose influence shaped many of us in ways we still appreciate today,” he wrote in a post on social media.

Bajemigbe noted that the late evangelist devoted her life to investing in people and nurturing younger generations.

“Mama Toun did not just live; she invested in people, raised lives, and inspired a generation to believe in their potential. Her legacy will continue to live on in the values she instilled and the countless lives she touched,” he added.

He also expressed gratitude for having had a personal relationship with the late minister, saying it made her influence even more meaningful.

“We celebrate her life, her impact, and the beautiful memories she left behind. Her story will always remain a source of inspiration to us all. Rest well, Mama Toun. Your legacy lives on,” he said.
