Kaduna Court Approves Bail for Former Governor El-Rufai |LAGOS EYE NEWS

A Federal High Court in Kaduna has granted former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai bail in the ongoing case involving alleged financial misconduct.

El-Rufai is facing multiple charges filed by the ICPC, including allegations of fraud, abuse of office, and the alleged release of ₦11 billion for a proposed light rail project said not to have been executed.

He is also accused of approving and receiving about ₦289.8 million as severance allowance, far above the legally approved amount.

Another allegation involves the alleged mismanagement of over $1.08 million from a World Bank loan.

El-Rufai has denied all allegations.

Meanwhile, the Kaduna State High Court has adjourned ruling on his separate bail application to April 21, 2026.

This case is already drawing major national attention.
