Manchester United have been named the second most valuable football club in the world, with a valuation of approximately $6.6 billion (£4.9bn), according to the latest figures released by Forbes.
The club generated revenues of around $834 million during the 2023-24 season, underlining its enduring financial strength despite recent struggles on the pitch.
Only Real Madrid ranked above United in the global standings, with the Spanish giants valued at $6.75 billion. Manchester United remain the highest-ranked Premier League club on the list, ahead of rivals such as Liverpool and Manchester City.
The figures highlight the club’s remarkable commercial power, even after a disappointing campaign that will see United miss out on European football last season. Forbes noted that Manchester United’s global brand, extensive fanbase and long-standing commercial partnerships continue to drive significant revenues despite inconsistent on-field performances.
The report gathered that Manchester United’s position among football’s financial elite reflects decades of brand-building, much of which was established during the successful era under legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
