TikTok is hours from a deadline to find a non-Chinese owner* or face a ban in the United States.
The video-sharing app, which has more than 170 million American users , is under threat from a US law that orders TikTok to split from its Chinese owner ByteDance or get shut down in the United States.
TikTok temporarily shut down in the United States and disappeared from app stores as the law originally took effect on January 19, but US President Donald Trump announced a 75-day delay that is set to expire on April 5.
Trump said his administration was _”very close”_ to finding a buyer for TikTok, adding that it involved “multiple” investors.
