Nigeria Police to Commence Training for 10,000 New Recruits April 12 |LAGOS EYE NEWS

The Nigeria Police Force will commence nationwide training for 10,000 newly recruited constables on Saturday, April 12, 2025. The intensive training programme is designed to equip the recruits with essential skills and knowledge required for effective law enforcement and community service.

According to a statement released by ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi,

Force Headquarters, Abuja, the training exercise will take place at various Police Colleges and training institutions across the country.

Ahead of the resumption, the Force Headquarters on Friday, April 11, held an orientation ceremony for Commandants and Directing Staff of the training institutions.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, was represented virtually by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Department of Training and Development (DTD), DIG Frank Mba, mni.

Addressing the Commandants, the IGP emphasized the need to align with the ongoing police reforms and uphold the highest standards of ethics and professionalism throughout the training period. He urged the training staff to lead by example and instil discipline, integrity, and professionalism in the recruits.

The IGP reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to the welfare of recruits during the training, particularly in the areas of feeding and accommodation, to ensure a stable and conducive learning environment. He also charged the recruits to maintain discipline and embrace the core values of the police profession.

Expressing gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the IGP acknowledged the President’s support for strengthening the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force.

He described the mass recruitment and training as a significant investment in public safety and national security.
