The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, on Tuesday presided over the first plenary session following his return to the office.
The session also witnessed the official debut of Mr Taiwo Otun as the new Clerk of the House.
LAGOS EYE NEWS reports that at the plenary the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Mojisola Meranda, and a number of other lawmakers were absent.
It was gathered that no official explanation was offered on the floor regarding their absence.
The House reconvened after a prolonged recess, with a noticeably sparse attendance. Several observers, including members of the press, appeared unaware that the sitting was scheduled to take place.
On the order paper for the day was the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy Bill 2025, which was listed for its third reading. Following its passage, the House adjourned sine die.
