The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has dismissed claims that candidates are posted to examination centres outside their selected towns, calling the allegation false and misleading.
In a statement on Saturday, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, insisted that candidates select their preferred exam towns during registration, and are assigned centres within those towns.
To counter what it called a baseless rumour, JAMB offered a financial reward for anyone who could prove otherwise within 96 hours, directing evidence to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) via WhatsApp.
JAMB also urged parents to understand the need for candidates to arrive 90 minutes before examination for verification, likening it to air travellers arriving early for flights.
The Board further advised candidates against relying on superstition or miraculous expectations in examinations, urging thorough preparation instead.
