The Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mojisola Meranda, has commended the unwavering dedication and sacrifices of workers in Lagos, Nigeria, and across the globe as part of celebrations marking International Workers’ Day.
In a goodwill message issued on Thursday, Meranda lauded the vital role workers play in driving economic growth, sustaining resilience, and upholding the values that define Lagos as the “Centre of Excellence.”
“Today, we honor your diligence, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to excellence across all sectors—public and private,” she stated. “Your efforts power the engine of our economy and uphold the values that make Lagos thrive.”
Meranda reaffirmed the Lagos State House of Assembly’s dedication to enacting policies that protect workers’ rights, improve working conditions, and foster inclusive opportunities.
“As Deputy Speaker, I assure you that together with my colleagues, we will continue to champion legislation that empowers the workforce and sustains Lagos as a beacon of development in Nigeria and beyond,” she said.
She concluded by reminding citizens that every job holds dignity and every worker deserves respect, emphasizing the importance of unity and inclusion in building a better society.
