The Federal Government has approved the deployment of the National Identification Number Authentication Service (NINAuth) to enable secure and seamless identity verification across all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
According to a statement issued by Kayode Adegoke, Head of Corporate Communications at the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), President Bola Tinubu has directed all government services to adopt the NINAuth platform.
This move is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the National Identity Management System under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Developed by NIMC, NINAuth provides real-time identity verification through web, API, and mobile access. The platform features advanced security protocols, prioritizes user privacy, and empowers individuals to control how their personal data is shared.
Adegoke noted that the authentication service will be used for key processes such as SIM registration, passport applications, tax filings, driver’s license renewals, and access to government intervention programs.
He emphasized that NINAuth is now the sole platform for all NIN-based verifications and authentications across government agencies.
Nigerians are encouraged to download the NINAuth app on their smartphones. Implementation guidelines are available at ninauth.nimc.gov.ng.
