Lagos Residents Advised to Avoid ACME Road During APC Primaries |LAGOS EYE NEWS

As the All Progressives Congress (APC) gears up for its crucial primaries on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the APC State Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja, the Lagos State Government has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory to mitigate potential congestion.

The announcement, released on Wednesday by the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, outlines the necessary road closures and alternative routes designed to ensure smooth vehicular movement during the event.

“ACME Road will be completely closed to vehicular traffic from Adeniyi Jones, Lateef Jakande, and ACME Crescent ends for the duration of the primaries,” stated Commissioner Osiyemi.

To alleviate the anticipated traffic impact, motorists are advised to utilize the following alternative routes:

From Adeniyi Jones: Motorists should divert to Aromire to reach Allen Junction and proceed onward.

From Allen: Drivers are directed to link Aromire and continue through Ladipo Oluwole to Guinness Road.

From Akilo Road: Motorists can connect via Wemco Road, proceed to Lateef Jakande, or continue towards Omole.

The Commissioner urged Lagos residents to plan their journeys in advance, emphasizing that those without urgent business in the ACME Road vicinity should avoid the area entirely.

“We advise Lagosians to plan their movements ahead of time. Residents without urgent business in the ACME Road area are to avoid the axis to help reduce congestion,” he said.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will be deployed along the affected routes to manage traffic flow and provide assistance to road users, he said.

He added that motorists are advised to cooperate with traffic officials and adhere to the diversion plans.
