The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has arrived in Plateau State on a spiritual mission aimed at promoting peace and healing in the conflict-ridden region.
His visit comes ahead of a special intercessory event tagged “Divine Manifestation”, scheduled for Sunday, May 11, 2025. The event, organized by the RCCG Region 8 Headquarters in Jos, is part of a wider spiritual outreach and is dedicated to prayers for Plateau State and Nigeria.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to Governor Caleb Mutfwang in Jos on Wednesday, Pastor Adeboye assured the state leadership and citizens that they were not alone in their trials. He emphasized that the Church and the wider body of Christ were united in interceding for peace in the region.
“Man is frail and not sufficient in himself, and only God is all-sufficient,” Pastor Adeboye declared. “The arm of flesh may fail, but there is a God who never fails. We are here to cry to Him for help.”
He called on residents to join him in a special one-hour prayer session on Wednesday evening, expressing confidence that divine intervention would follow. “I am confident that after that one-hour session, the news will change for the state,” he stated.
In response, Governor Mutfwang expressed deep appreciation for the visit, describing Pastor Adeboye’s presence as a beacon of hope for Plateau State.
“On behalf of the government and people of Plateau State, I welcome our father in the Lord who flew in from Lagos this morning to pray with us and for us,” the governor said. “We are grateful for your concern and your unwavering commitment to building the body of Christ. We look forward to joining in the prayers this evening.”
Pastor Adeboye’s visit comes at a critical time for the state, which has suffered recurring violence at the hands of armed assailants, particularly in areas like Marit village, Gashish District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.
Many residents see his presence as a symbol of hope and a possible turning point for a state long burdened by insecurity and unrest.
