APC Chairmanship Primaries: Aspirant, Abimbola Oladokun Alleges Manipulation in Orile-Agege Primaries |LAGOS EYE NEWS

A chairmanship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Abimbola Tijani Oladokun, has raised serious allegations against the party’s primary election process, describing it as manipulated and unjust.

Speaking passionately at the APC primary venue in ACME, Oladokun accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of longstanding political suppression, claiming her political ambitions have been deliberately thwarted since 2007.

“Tinubu is my problem,” she declared. “He took my ticket in 2007 without compensation, and since then, he has continued to impose candidates over me every time I contest.”

Oladokun, who is the only female aspirant cleared to contest in Orile-Agege LCDA, criticized what she described as a disconnect between the party’s public commitment to supporting women in politics and the reality on ground.

“He said female aspirants should be prioritized, but they are not doing that. They’re doing something else entirely,” she stated. “I’ve contested four times now. What more do I have to prove?”

Reflecting on personal sacrifices, she emotionally recalled the death of her husband during what she referred to as the “Koro saga,” saying politics took a heavy toll on her family.

“I lost my husband during the Koro saga. Politics took him away, and I’ve carried on alone. Yet, they keep treating me like I don’t belong,” she said.

The aspirant also pointed to irregularities at the primary venue, alleging a lack of transparency and fairness in the process. She cited an incident where an allegedly endorsed candidate arrived in the same vehicle as party delegates, calling it a clear indication of bias and manipulation.

“Today, one of the party’s allegedly endorsed candidates arrived at the venue in the same vehicle with the delegates. Is that not an aberration? How do you explain that?” she questioned.

Oladokun concluded by condemning the entire exercise, asserting that the primary lacked credibility and fairness.

“This primary is not credible. It’s a shame. The process has been hijacked, and true party loyalists like myself are being pushed aside over and over again,” she said.
