Kristie Mewis and Sam Kerr Welcome Baby Boy, Jagger Mewis-Kerr |LAGOS EYE NEWS

US Women’s National Team (USWNT) midfielder Kristie Mewis and her fiancée, Australian and Chelsea FC forward Sam Kerr, have announced the birth of their first child, a baby boy named Jagger Mewis-Kerr.

The couple shared the joyful news on Instagram on Thursday, May 8, posting a heartfelt photo of themselves cuddling with their newborn son.

In the photo, baby Jagger rests on Kerr’s chest while both parents smile warmly at the camera. “Our little man is here,” the caption read, alongside a blue heart emoji and their son’s name.

Mewis, 34, and Kerr, 31, revealed they were expecting in November 2024 with a series of Instagram photos showing Mewis’ baby bump. The couple, who got engaged in November 2023, have frequently shared glimpses of their relationship on social media, drawing admiration from fans across the globe.

Known for her performances with the USWNT and West Ham United, Mewis has often spoken about the strength of their relationship, crediting Kerr’s unwavering support during her professional journey.

Kerr, a prominent figure in women’s football, currently plays for Chelsea FC and the Australian national team.

The announcement of baby Jagger, whose name carries a playful nod to rock and roll, has been met with an outpouring of congratulations from teammates, fans, and fellow athletes worldwide.
