NIMC Announces New Prices for NIN Data Modification Services |LAGOS EYE NEWS

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has released a revised price list for its services, marking a significant increase in fees for data modification on the National Identification Number (NIN) database and other related services.

According to the updated pricing structure, correction of the date of birth (DOB) on the NIN database will now cost N28,750, representing a 75% hike from the previous charge of N16,340.

This development follows NIMC’s recent announcement regarding plans to increase fees for its services. The Commission stated that the revision comes after maintaining the same price structure for over a decade. It noted that the adjustment was necessary to align with current operational costs and industry standards.

Under the new regime, modifications to fields other than the DOB—such as name or address changes—will now cost N2,000 per transaction. This is a 31% increase from the previous fee of N1,522.

While the initial enrollment and issuance of the first NIN slip remain free, re-issuance now attracts a fee of N600, up from N500.

Premium enrollment services, available at licensed lounges, visa processing centers, and through pre-booked appointments, have also seen a price adjustment. VIP enrollment now costs N20,000, while re-issuance of NIN slips for VIPs is priced at N3,500.

For Nigerians residing in African countries, NIMC disclosed that new enrollments cost $50 for adults and $30 for children. The reissuance of NIN slips in the Diaspora is now set at $6.

Data modification fees for Africans abroad include $55 for correction of date of birth and $10 for changes to other fields. For Nigerians outside the African continent, the cost for name correction is $60, while other modifications remain at $10.

NIMC said the revised fees take immediate effect.
