Governors elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have appointed former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, to head a seven-member committee tasked with reconciling aggrieved members of the party.
The Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, disclosed this on Sunday night following a strategic meeting involving party governors, leaders, and select members of the PDP Board of Trustees. Also in attendance was the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The high-level meeting, held ahead of the PDP National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting and the party’s upcoming national convention, was well attended by seven serving governors and several former governors.
The NEC meeting is scheduled for May 27, while the national convention is set to take place by the end of August.
Meanwhile, members of the PDP Board of Trustees are continuing their deliberations at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
