In a renewed move to tackle the menace of human trafficking, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) have pledged to deepen inter-agency collaboration and synergy.
This commitment was made during a courtesy visit by the Director General of NAPTIP, Binta Adamu Bello, to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NiDCOM, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
Commending NiDCOM’s efforts in championing the welfare of Nigerians abroad, Bello emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships in protecting citizens from exploitation.
She assured that NAPTIP, under her leadership, would continue to engage stakeholders at all levels to achieve its mandate.
In her remarks, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa applauded NAPTIP’s proactive role in the rescue and rehabilitation of trafficking victims, as well as its nationwide awareness campaigns and prosecution of offenders.
“There is a need to support NAPTIP through partnership. This is why multi-agency collaboration is important. We have to declare war on human traffickers in Nigeria,” she stated.
The visit marks a significant step toward bolstering national efforts to address human trafficking through coordinated government action.
