Ruben Amorim Confirms Manchester United Stay, Tells Garnacho to Find New Club |LAGOS EYE NEWS

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has officially informed the squad that he will remain in charge for next season — while also delivering a shock message to winger Alejandro Garnacho, instructing him to find a new club.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Amorim addressed the team in a tense meeting at Carrington following United’s Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday. Despite their poor domestic form — with United languishing in 16th place ahead of the final Premier League fixture — Amorim stood firm, rejecting any notion of stepping down.

In a dramatic gesture, Amorim reportedly offered to resign without compensation if the club’s board or supporters no longer believed in his leadership. However, he ultimately reaffirmed his commitment to stay on and rebuild the squad.

During the same meeting, Amorim delivered a bombshell announcement to Garnacho, telling the 19-year-old that he is no longer part of his plans and should seek opportunities elsewhere.

Garnacho had featured in every Europa League match leading up to the final, but was benched until the 71st minute in the decisive game. After the loss, the Argentine hinted at his discontent, stating:

“Up until the final, I’ve played every round, and today to play 20 minutes… I don’t know. I’m going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens after.”

The situation escalated further when his brother, Roberto Garnacho, took to Instagram, claiming Alejandro had been “thrown under the bus,” a remark believed to reference his missed opportunity in the semi-final — which may have influenced Amorim’s decision to start Mason Mount instead.

With Amorim now looking ahead to a new chapter at Old Trafford, Garnacho’s future at the club appears all but over.
