More than 1,200 musicians set a world record in western Germany on Saturday for participating in the largest live rock band.
Olaf Kuchenbecker from the German Record Institute said 1,231 people joined the performance in Frankfurt’s Forest Stadium, dubbed The Grand Jam.
“This means that the previous world record of 2023 from Vienna with 1,112 participants has been beaten and is now in Frankfurt,” said Kuchenbecker.
The musicians responded to a call to take part in the record attempt at the stadium.
They came to Frankfurt with a wide variety of instruments – from drums to electric guitars.
The set list included hits by US singer Tina Turner, German band Die Toten Hosen and Irish rockers U2.
The band began the concert with Robbie Williams’ “Let Me Entertain You.”
The performance beat the previous record, set in Vienna when 1,112 people played a Metallica song together at a festival.
