The Lagos State Government has dismissed a social media publication claiming that cut-off marks for admission into its Model Colleges and Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools have been released.
In a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs. Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite, the government described the circulating information as “fictitious and fraudulent.”
She warned parents, students, and guardians whose wards recently sat for the Computer-Based Screening Test for admission into Model Colleges to disregard the publication, which falsely asserted that candidates scoring 50% would automatically gain merit admission.
“The purported publication and its content are fake, fraudulent, and did not emanate from the State Government or any of its agencies,” Dokunmu-Adegbite stated.
The Permanent Secretary further advised prospective applicants and their families to rely solely on official communications from the State Government or its designated agencies for accurate information regarding admissions.
She cautioned the public against falling victim to fraudsters and impostors, emphasizing that Lagos State maintains a transparent and credible admission process for all its schools.
