The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has taken enforcement action against Lobster Beach Club following a series of verified environmental violations reported by concerned residents in the area.
According to a statement by the agency, complaints lodged by neighbors included allegations of excessive noise pollution, marijuana smoking, indiscriminate use of fireworks, and the illegal felling of trees within the premises of the beach club.
Upon investigation, LASEPA confirmed the infractions and moved swiftly to sanction the facility. The violations specifically included the smoking of marijuana, frequent and unregulated fireworks displays that raised both safety and noise concerns, as well as the unauthorised removal of palm trees—actions which contravene environmental and public safety regulations.
In line with its mandate to protect public health and ensure environmental sustainability, LASEPA emphasized that its intervention was carried out professionally and without bias.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing environmental laws and maintaining that no individual or establishment is above regulatory oversight.
As part of the compliance measures required for the reopening of the facility, Lobster Beach Club has been directed to present all necessary permits and approvals for lawful operations. In addition, the club must provide proof of designated smoking areas within its premises, in accordance with public health and environmental standards.
LASEPA reiterated its dedication to enforcing environmental compliance across the state through fair but firm measures.
The agency called on all business operators to adhere strictly to environmental guidelines, as it continues efforts to keep Lagos clean, safe, and healthy for all residents.
