Swedish climate campaigner Greta Thunberg has been deported from Israel following her detention aboard a Gaza-bound aid vessel, according to Israeli authorities.
She departed the country on a flight to Sweden via France.
Thunberg was among 12 international activists aboard the Madleen, a boat operated by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, which was intercepted by Israeli naval forces in international waters on June 9. The vessel was subsequently towed to the port of Ashdod.
The aid ship, carrying food and humanitarian supplies, included activists from France, Germany, Brazil, Turkey, Sweden, Spain, and the Netherlands.
Organizers stated that the mission aimed to deliver aid to Gaza and challenge the ongoing Israeli blockade of the Palestinian territory.
Israeli authorities reported that five French nationals who refused to leave voluntarily have been taken into custody.
All those detained were transferred to Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv for processing.
