Air Peace Slams Senator Oshiomhole Over Lagos Airport Terminal Closure |LAGOS EYE NEWS

A major disruption occurred at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Wednesday morning after Senator Adams Oshiomhole allegedly locked the terminal gate of the Zulu Terminal, following his late arrival and subsequent inability to board a scheduled Air Peace flight to Abuja.

According to a strongly worded statement released by Air Peace, the senator arrived at the terminal at approximately 6:10 a.m. for Flight P47120, which was scheduled to depart Lagos for Abuja at 6:30 a.m. The airline emphasized that, in line with aviation protocol and its commitment to on-time departures, the boarding process had already closed before the senator’s arrival and the flight departed as scheduled.

However, rather than accepting the situation, the senator reportedly resorted to physical aggression. “The politician physically assaulted our staff and forcefully barricaded the terminal’s entrance,” the airline stated. “He went as far as sealing the entry gate and manning the access point, thereby obstructing other passengers from entering the terminal.”

The incident caused widespread disruption, affecting multiple flights and inconveniencing hundreds of passengers. Air Peace said it was forced to implement an emergency contingency plan, redirecting operations to an alternate terminal to ensure passengers could continue their journeys.

The airline condemned the senator’s actions, describing them as “unbecoming, violent, and disruptive.” It reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy toward any form of aggression against its personnel or passengers, regardless of the individual’s status.

“We urge all guests to remain civil and cooperative at all times,” the statement added. “Aviation operations are governed by strict timelines and safety protocols, and no individual—regardless of influence—is above these standards.”

Air Peace concluded by reiterating its core values of discipline, integrity, and respect for due process, stating that it remains committed to providing safe and timely service to the Nigerian public.
