The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has announced the commencement of the 2025 online registration exercise for the placement of pupils into Public Junior Secondary Schools across the state.
According to a statement signed by the Press Secretary of the Ministry, Peter Amogbonjaye, the registration exercise begins today, Wednesday, June 11, and will run until Monday, June 23, 2025.
Parents, guardians, and school heads can access detailed guidelines through the official placement portal: https://placement.kwarastate.gov.ng
The Ministry emphasized that both the registration and the placement examination are fully funded by the Kwara State Government as part of its free and inclusive education policy. It reiterated that no fees should be demanded from any pupil or parent for participating in the process.

“All prospective pupils must be registered by their current primary schools,” the statement read, adding that private primary schools are required to obtain clearance from the Ministry’s Quality Assurance Bureau in order to gain login access to the portal.
In line with efforts to ensure a seamless exercise, a capacity-building training for head teachers of all public primary schools also commenced today across designated centres in the state.
While the Ministry has yet to announce the specific date for the placement examination, it assured that the test will hold in all Public Junior Secondary Schools statewide and that the schedule will be communicated in due course.
The Ministry also issued a stern warning to head teachers and school administrators against charging pupils or parents for the free placement process. It stated that any official found violating this directive will face appropriate disciplinary actions in line with public service regulations.
