Popular Nigerian singer, Adekunle Temitope, better known by his stage name Small Doctor, has once again called on Nigerian youths to steer clear of drug abuse, emphasizing the long-term consequences of substance use.
In a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Thursday, the singer shared a powerful message: “A moment of pleasure, a lifetime of regret. Think twice.”
He accompanied the message with a plea for young Nigerians to say no to drugs, highlighting the negative impact it can have on their lives.
This renewed call forms part of Small Doctor’s ongoing personal campaign against drug abuse. Recalling his earlier commitment, the singer had marked his birthday with a pledge to dedicate his own resources to raise awareness and educate young people about the dangers of drug use.
“It’s been a roller coaster since I spoke against drug abuse,” he wrote in the post. “Today, on my birthday, I’m reaffirming my commitment to fight against drug abuse. I’m incredibly grateful for the support I’ve received, including from some notable names!”
The singer revealed that he is kickstarting the campaign with his personal funds, noting that while he is passionate about the cause, he is also realistic about the challenges ahead.

“I’m committed to this cause, and I’ll do my best to sustain it. However, I want to be clear: this is a personal commitment and I’ll start with what I can manage. I’m juggling many responsibilities already. If the scope exceeds my current budget, I’ll have to adjust,” he explained.
“This isn’t about starting something I can’t finish; it’s about making a genuine impact with what I have, while being honest about my limitations. I’m doing this willingly, and I appreciate any support, but I also want to avoid any future criticism.”
Small Doctor concluded by assuring his followers that his team would soon begin outreach efforts as part of the campaign, encouraging collaboration for real change.
