A 43-year-old man, Paul Agwu, was apprehended on Monday for illegally dumping refuse directly into the Oshodi canal.

This was disclosed in a statement posted on Facebook by the Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab.

“Dumping waste in canals is a recipe for flooded homes. We will never tolerate this reckless endangerment of communities,” Wahab stated.

According to the Commissioner, Agwu will face immediate prosecution.

He also warned others engaging in similar acts that their arrest is inevitable.
