In a dramatic and widely applauded moment, Dr. Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor and Founder of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, publicly declined a N30 million donation from the Kebbi State Government during a healing and deliverance crusade held at the Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.
The event, attended by thousands of worshippers, took an unexpected turn when a government representative took to the stage to announce the donation on behalf of the Governor.
“Our Governor, the people’s governor, has graciously approved the donation of the sum of N30 million to this gathering—to the organizing committee. And as you know, whenever His Excellency makes a donation, he delivers it in cash,” the announcer declared.
However, before the announcement could be concluded, a voice—later identified as Pastor Becky Enenche, wife of Dr. Enenche—interjected firmly through the microphone, saying, “No, no.” Her statement was met with murmurs and applause from parts of the crowd.

Unfazed, the government representative attempted to continue: “Before I leave this place, I want to present that N30 million in cash.” But Pastor Becky Enenche calmly insisted, “Just hold on,” prompting further reaction from the audience.
Shortly after, Dr. Paul Enenche himself addressed the gathering to explain the church’s position.
“We believe government money should be used for government projects and government things, and church money should be used for church things—not mixed together,” he said to resounding applause.
Dr. Enenche emphasized the church’s commitment to financial independence, noting that the Dunamis Glory Dome, the ministry’s massive headquarters in Abuja, was built without any financial contribution from government sources.
