Tehran has threatened to inflict “serious” damage in retaliation for U.S. strikes on its nuclear facilities, as the Iran-Israel conflict entered its 11th day despite growing international calls for de-escalation.
Aerial assaults continued on Monday, with air raid sirens sounding across Israel. AFP journalists reported hearing multiple explosions over Jerusalem.
The Israeli military confirmed it had targeted missile sites in western Iran and struck six Iranian regime-operated airports across the country, reportedly destroying fighter jets and helicopters.
Former U.S. President Donald Trump stated that American warplanes deployed “bunker buster” bombs in coordinated strikes on Fordo, Isfahan, and Natanz on Sunday. He claimed the attacks had “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
However, senior officials cautioned that it was too early to determine the full extent of the damage to Iran’s nuclear programme, which Israel and several Western nations view as an existential threat.
