The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) is set to arraign the Chief Executive Officer and directors of MultiChoice Nigeria, operators of popular pay-TV platforms DStv and GOtv, over allegations of obstructing an ongoing investigation into the company’s operations.
This development follows a series of consumer complaints and regulatory confrontations, culminating in a recent court decision that dismissed MultiChoice’s lawsuit challenging the FCCPC’s sanction related to a controversial subscription price increase.
The FCCPC stated that the arraignment reflects its resolve to uphold consumer protection laws and ensure corporate accountability in Nigeria’s broadcasting and telecommunications sectors.
