The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a stern warning to serving and aspiring council chairmen, declaring that any chairman residing outside their designated local government area will face sanctions.
This warning was delivered by the APC State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, on Tuesday, during the party’s stakeholders’ meeting held at the State House in Marina.
The meeting, hosted by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, also marked the official launch of the APC’s campaign for the forthcoming local council elections in the state.

“We won’t tolerate any council chairman that lives outside his council area,” Ojelabi stated firmly. “Any council chairman that is reported to live outside his council area will be sanctioned.”
Pastor Ojelabi also advised all chairmanship candidates to adopt an open-door policy and focus on people-oriented programmes that address the needs of their constituents.
The stakeholders’ meeting was attended by top party officials, council leaders, and grassroots mobilisers as the APC began to gear up for a crucial election cycle at the local level.
