The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered a comprehensive investigation into allegations raised in a viral video by a retired Superintendent of Police regarding the welfare and retirement benefits of police pensioners.

According to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the IGP has directed the NPF Pensions Limited to urgently review the claims, identify any shortcomings, and take appropriate steps to address the issues raised.

Dr. Egbetokun emphasized that the Nigeria Police Force remains deeply concerned about the welfare of its retired officers, many of whom devoted their careers to safeguarding the nation.

He reiterated that both serving and retired personnel deserve a robust and fair pension system, which is essential for maintaining morale and institutional integrity.
