The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has intensified its enforcement drive in Ikeja, targeting waste black spots and enforcing environmental compliance across several key locations in the area.
The special enforcement operation, spearheaded by Ms. Ranti Dosunmu, Head of Administration and Human Resources at LAWMA, involved a coordinated team comprising management staff and various enforcement units.
The team carried out extensive monitoring activities in areas including Moshalashi Bus Stop, Isale Awori, Illo, Olowu, Bank Anthony Way, Tonade, Oriyomi, Oregun Market, POWA Market (Alausa), and Philip Bus Stop.
During the exercise, LAWMA officials engaged with community stakeholders, including Alhaja Toheebat Adefolami, Chairperson of the Ikeja Community Development Committee (CDC), to sensitize residents on proper waste disposal practices and the need to patronize only assigned PSP operators.

Tenements found violating environmental regulations were served intention-to-seal notices, while roadside traders obstructing roads and drainage systems were removed. One facility at Philip Bus Stop was sealed for non-compliance.
LAWMA reiterated its unwavering commitment to maintaining a cleaner and healthier Lagos through a combination of strict enforcement and proactive community engagement.
