His Royal Majesty, Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, has received a high-powered delegation from the China Association for International Economic Cooperation (CIBDC) at his palace, signaling a potential landmark partnership between the ancient town and the Chinese government-backed body.
The delegation, led by the Director General of CIBDC, Dr. Chuks, visited Iragbiji with a mission to explore collaboration opportunities in smart agriculture, technology, renewable energy, and healthcare delivery.
Welcoming the visitors with cultural fanfare and traditional rites, Oba Olabomi — who also serves as the Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) — emphasized the readiness of Iragbiji to embrace innovation and international cooperation that would foster sustainable development in the region.
The Chinese delegation was adorned with traditional aso ofi attire and treated to a cultural showcase reflecting the rich heritage of Iragbiji.
The royal council joined the monarch in warmly receiving the guests before their scheduled trip to Lagos, where they are expected to meet with the Lagos State Governor.

The visit is seen as a significant milestone in Iragbiji’s developmental journey, with expectations high for joint initiatives that could improve agricultural practices, enhance technological access, and expand healthcare services within the community.
Also on the agenda is a proposed partnership with the newly approved Federal University of Agriculture and Development Studies, Iragbiji — a development anticipated to boost education and economic prospects in Osun State and beyond.
