The Kwara State Government has announced a 40 percent reduction in registration fees for public school students sitting for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) across the state.
The approval was given by Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON) as part of ongoing efforts to promote accessible and inclusive education.
Speaking in Ilorin on Monday, the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe described the move as a demonstration of the administration’s commitment to easing the financial burden on families.
“The administration of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has continued to demonstrate its commitment to providing quality education that is affordable to parents and guardians across the state,” Olohungbebe said.
“The approval of a 40 percent reduction is a testament to the government’s responsiveness to the economic realities faced by our people.”
