Lagos Govt, Rotary Club Commission Renovated Classrooms at Ikeja Model School |LAGOS EYE NEWS

The Lagos State Government, in a significant boost to its education infrastructure, recently commissioned the newly renovated block of classrooms at Lagos State Model Nursery and Primary School, Ikeja. This achievement is a result of a robust partnership with the Rotary Club of Ikeja South, District 9111.

The formal handover ceremony, held within the school premises, was attended by officials from the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), dignitaries from the Rotary Club, members of the school community, and various education stakeholders.

The newly equipped classrooms signify a crucial step in the ongoing public-private collaboration aimed at enhancing learning environments across the state.

Dr. Hakeem Babatunde Shittu, the Executive Chairman of LASUBEB, lauded the Rotary Club of Ikeja South, District 9111, for their commendable intervention. He emphasised that the initiative aligns perfectly with the Lagos State Government’s vision for creating conducive and inclusive learning atmospheres for all pupils.

“This renovated block of classrooms is not just a building – it is a symbol of hope, progress, and partnership,” Dr. Shittu stated. “We are immensely grateful to the Rotary Club of Ikeja South, District 9111, for complementing our efforts towards providing world-class infrastructure for public basic schools in Lagos State.”

Rotarian Durotimi Adeboye, President of the Rotary Club of Ikeja South, District 9111, reiterated the club’s unwavering commitment to advancing education through impactful community service and humanitarian initiatives.

“Education remains one of Rotary’s key focus areas,” he affirmed. “This project is part of our broader mission to support literacy, child development, and sustainable community growth in Lagos State.”

The school management and pupils expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the transformation through various songs of appreciation, visibly excited by the improved facilities.

The Lagos State Government, through LASUBEB, continues to encourage partnerships with well-meaning organisations and individuals. The Board stressed that collaborative efforts are crucial in complementing the state government’s ongoing initiatives, plans, and projects in the education sector.
